After searching for almost a year, we have the honor of welcoming a new male puppy, imported from Abruzzo, Italy!  His name is 'Abruzzo' and he represents pure, rustic shepherd lines and a new breeder to the USA.  All I can say to his breeder is "Wow, what a puppy! thank you!"

We would like to thank 'Abruzzo's" breeder for allowing him to come to the USA and for going to a lot of trouble getting him here.

Abruzzo has such a gentle way of moving among the livestock.  This enables him to often be the first one allowed close to newborns, especially the lambs from our Scottish Blackface sheep.  The Scottish Blackface are rough and agile hill-type ewes who have no trouble killing a coyote and will often turn on a dog in the same way.  Despite his young age, he has been completely trustworthy with all livestock---showing his kindness and devotion to the newborns, sick, or injured.  We can't say enough good things about this fine fellow, he definitely is that 'once in a lifetime' dog.

In some areas of this country, the predators seem to be winning.  Reports are surfacing throughout the east about coyotes hunting in packs while their DNA testing show wolf blood mixed in.  Hopefully, with the introduction of these new rustic working bloodlines for the USA, the playing field will be leveled.

Our goal is to produce a great working Maremma Sheepdog.  We strive to produce a dog that will not only be an excellent guardian, but also be beautiful and healthy, in body and also in mind.  Our puppies are registered, micro chipped, born and raised with livestock, and come with a written health guarantee.

Seven week old puppies out of Italian imports, Rovere and Giovenco.  It's hard to believe these sweet looking puppies will grow up to be fearless guardians, but they do!
